Dr Holton is an Adult Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He undertook his psychiatric training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at RPA since 2009. His particular interest is Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry which is a subspecialty of psychiatry that involves the assessment and management of individuals with complex co-morbid physical and psychiatric problems.
He has over 15 years experience working with individuals with chronic pain in a multidisciplinary setting at the RPA Hospital Pain Management Centre. In addition, he has completed a Masters of Medicine in Pain Management at the University of Sydney.
Dr Holton also has significant experience in the management of a broad range of psychiatric and psychological problems including the management of individuals with eating disorders, complex trauma, functional neurological disorders, gastrointestinal disorders and the psychological consequences of other medical illnesses.
